A Bit About Us

Captain Stan's Bembridge Fish Store is a family owned traditional fishmongers specialising in wild caught fish and shellfish caught around the UK coast with the majority coming out of local Bembridge waters.

We are a local small business located in the heart of Bembridge Village on the Isle of Wight. We pride ourselves in providing local, fresh fish and shellfish, caught in local waters including by our own boat 'Jest' to our customers. We make a conscious effort to fish sustainably and always offer fantastic quality at a reasonable price. In order to offer our customers a full range of fresh fish we source species that are not readily available in our waters from reputable fish markets on the Mainland.

 We endeavour to always offer the very best possible service to each customer who visits our store; we will fillet, pin bone and trim each fish to suit your recipe at no extra charge. We are very proud of our knowledgeable staff who are Billingsgate trained and have achieved  the “City & Guilds” Qualification in Fishmonger Skills. They also hold Food Safety Certificates from the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health.

As well as our fresh fish and shellfish we also offer a variety of homemade items made in store. Some of which include; Fishcakes, Crab Cakes, Taramaslata, Crab Ramekins and much more.
